Heavy rains, flooding impacting Shasta County

Red Smith at the Shasta Lantern reports:
Red Cross is setting up an evacuation center in Shasta Lake City for flooding victims in the area. The Baptist Church 1501 McConnell St.

Heavy flooding and damage in low lying areas of Shasta Lake City. Reports of flooding near Shasta Dam Blvd., Pine Grove, Ashby St., Twin View Blvd.

Avoid the Mountain Gate area due to widespread flooding.

Churn Creek spilled over its banks on Redding’s east side near Churn Creek Road and Collyer Drive.

Flooding on Hilltop Drive, Shasta Dam Boulevard, Keswick Dam Boulevard and Old Oregon Trail.

There was also flooding at Peterson Lane and Lake Boulevard in the Buckeye area.

Flooding in the parking lot and playground at Boulder Creek Elementary School off Churn Creek Road north of Redding.

More weather imminent.
On that last point, the National Weather Service is predicting wet and windy weather through the end of this week.
