Shasta College's agriculture and natural resources program has been named the best postsecondary ag program in California by an educational organization. From SC instructor Trena Kimler-Richards:
The California Agriculture Teachers’ Association (CATA) selected the Shasta College Agriculture and Natural Resources program as the Outstanding Ag Program in the Post-Secondary Division for California.

The award was presented on June 22nd at the annual California Agriculture Teachers’ Association conference at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. The CATA rankers based community college agriculture programs performance on colleges’ levels of instruction, experiential learning, student organizations, partnerships, and faculty professional growth.

Trena Kimler-Richards, Agricultural Instructor, gave credit to the faculty of the Shasta College Agriculture & Natural Resources program and administrative support. The program has strong support from industry partners and the community which strengthens the learning opportunities for the students.

  1. Congratulations, I remember when the Shasta College President at the time wanted to close the program and turn the farm into soccer fields and parking lots. Glad when he went away!
