The Shasta County Farm Bureau presents the second annual Intermountain Ranch Rodeo March 9 and 10 at the Jennifer Skuce Pavilion in McArthur Ca. The rodeo action starts on Friday at 4:00 p.m. with the counting. Following the counting, all 17 teams will be auctioned off in the calcutta, the rodeo action continues with the remaining events: Calf Branding, Mulley Team Roping, Sorting, Calf Roping, Ranch Doctoring and the Ranch Cow Milking.
The events will continue on Saturday with the Ranch Horse Competition starting at 10:00 a.m. a jackpot team roping will follow at 12:00 p.m., the kids dummy roping contest at 4:00 and the final rodeo performance at 5:00 p.m. After the rodeo you can dance the night away to Jimmy Dunlap and the FBR band. Admission is $10.00 with kids 12 and under free. This event is a Western Ranch Rodeo Association sanctioned event the champions of the rodeo and ranch horse competition will get a chance to compete at the WSRRA finals held in Winnemucca, NV.
The Intermountain Ranch Rodeo was created in 2011 to help raise funds for the Shasta County Farm Bureau and their efforts to continue the future of agriculture in Shasta County. The 2011 event was awarded the California Farm Bureau Innovator award and was recognized by the American Farm Bureau for a County Area Of Excellence award. SCFB president Henry and Pam Giacomini traveled to Oahu, Hawaii where the AFBF annual meeting was held and presented a booth highlighting the 2011 Intermountain Ranch Rodeo to over 6,000 Farm Bureau members who attended the event. The non-profit organization advocates for farmers and ranchers large and small while supporting youth organization and awards $6,500 in scholarships to high school and college kids each year. Come out and watch real working cowboys compete to be the Intermountain Ranch Rodeo Champions while supporting a great cause.
